    Introduction


         The goals of Center for Teacher Education (CTE) are to cultivate students as the professionals for secondary education, and to make them as qualified high school teachers.

         The purposes of our center are to emphasize the research of practical problems around districts, to combine educational specialization and cooperate with neighborhood; moreover, our center plans practical courses of continuing education for teachers in southern Taiwan.

         Through constructing professional teaching abilities, individualized learning, cooperative learning, partner learning as well as team teaching skills are employed to have students nurtured under the concept of ‘love what you do and do what you love’, and make them show the teaching enthusiasm with professional knowledge. We look forward to cooperating with local and foreign institutes of teacher education for providing more opportunities of academic exchange.

     

    Features


    1. Apply vocational specialties to cultivate excellent vocational teachers.
    2. Exert each teacher’s educational specialties to have students received educational accomplishments.
    3. Plan various volunteer opportunities and nurture teachers who are willing to service people.

     

    Curriculum


    A. Required courses: at least 14 credits.

    1. Educational foundation courses: 4 credits.
    2. Educational methodology courses: 6 credits.
    3. Teaching methods and materials in specialized subjects: 2 credits.
    4. Practicum in specialized subjects : 2 credits.

    B. Elective courses: at least 12 credits.

    C. Course requirements

    1. Select at least 26 credits of Education courses.
    2. Class management should be taken by all students in any specialized subjects
    3. Teaching methods and materials in specialized subjects and Practicum in specialized subjects are for upper-class students in CTE. Teaching methods and materials in specialized subjects should be taken and passed first before Practicum in specialized subjects.

         The Center has Teaching counseling room, micro-teaching lab, Reading room , library containing thousands of volumes of education books, teaching professional classroom,  11 computers, 8 notebooks, 2 digital videos and 3 digital cameras.
