Campus Legends Showdown: Eight Finalist Teams Compete at CSU; Chung Cheng Industrial High School Wins the Anti-Drug Heroes Cup Championship

(CSU News) The Department of Esports Technology at Cheng Shiu University, in collaboration with the Kaohsiung City Liaison Office of the Ministry of Education, held the “2026 Kaohsiung Anti-Drug Heroes Cup: Campus Legends ShowdownArena of Valor offline finals on April9. Centered on the theme “Say No to Drugs, Secure Your Future,” the competition invited teams from 17 senior high and vocational schools across Kaohsiung City. Following intense online preliminary rounds, eight outstanding teams advanced to the offline finals. After a full day of exciting matches, Chung Cheng Industrial High School ultimately emerged as the champion of the 2026 Kaohsiung Anti-Drug Heroes Cup.

In his remarks, Vice President Huang Po-Wen stated that he appreciated the support of the Ministry of Education, the Kaohsiung City Government, and the Drug Prevention Bureau, whose collaboration made it possible to combine anti-drug advocacy with esports activities, encouraging students to develop healthy recreational habits. He also noted that the eight teams advancing to the offline finals were highly competitive and expressed hope that the players would demonstrate their best performance through fair competition.

The event opened with an energetic performance by the Fengshan High School Pop Dance Club, setting the stage for the competition. The host then introduced each of the eight finalist teams, with players standing and waving in turn as applause and cheers filled the venue, fully showcasing the vitality and enthusiasm of young students for esports competitions.

Deputy Director Kuo Pei-Jung of the Kaohsiung City Government Drug Prevention Bureau stated that although he understands the pressures and challenges faced by younger generations, it is important to stay away from drugs. He stressed that drugs do not solve problems and only harm physical and mental health, as well as families. He urged students to relieve stress through sports, proper recreational activities, or other positive outlets rather than turning to drugs to escape reality.

Supervisor Wu Yu-Hsien of the Kaohsiung City Liaison Office of the Ministry of Education stated that the “Anti-Drug Heroes Cup” has now entered its seventh year and has received strong positive feedback through alignment with the Ministry of Education’s anti-drug policies. He noted that esports emphasize focus, judgment, teamwork, self-discipline, and correct values, and that drugs are the greatest threat to these abilities. The competition aims to convey the important message of rejecting drugs.

Department Chair Hsieh Che-Jen of the Department of Esports Technology stated that all aspects of the event—from competition planning and visual design to live broadcasting and officiating—were carried out jointly by faculty, students, and professional teams. This not only showcased students’ professional capabilities but also strengthened the practical implementation of anti-drug education. He expressed hope that the positive influence of esports competitions would help create a healthy, active, and vibrant campus environment.

The championship match adopted a best-of-three (BO3) format, with Chung Cheng Industrial High School and Fengshan High School competing fiercely. Maintaining a steady pace and capitalizing on key team fights, Chung Cheng Industrial High School capitalized on key team fights to secure the championship title. After a full day of intense competition, the final results of the 2026 Kaohsiung Anti-Drug Heroes Cup Arena of Valor tournament were announced as follows: Champion: Chung Cheng Industrial High School; runner-up: Fengshan High School; third Place: Li-Chih High School; Fourth Place: Hsin Hsing High School.
