Cheng Shiu University is dedicated to student guidance and counseling, upholding the core values of “Diversity, Inclusivity, and We Care” to foster an inclusive and diverse-friendly campus. As a result, the University has been honored with the Ministry of Education’s “Friendly School Award—Excellence School in the Southern Region.”

With a 60-year history, Cheng Shiu University offers a wide range of engineering, business, design, and nursing programs. It provides a comprehensive academic system while boasting abundant learning resources, outstanding faculty, and exceptional student achievements. To ensure that underprivileged students receive adequate support and equitable treatment, the University proactively implements student guidance and counseling services.

Recognized by receiving the Ministry of Education’s “Friendly School Award,” Cheng Shiu University integrates “L.I.F.E.” as the four foundational pillars of student affairs. This helps students gain diverse experiences in campus life while emphasizing its “plus” foundation as “Diversity • Equity • and Inclusivity.”

Dean of Student Affairs, Shun-Yun Lin, highlighted the University’s commitment to fostering a supportive accommodations environment. It has established the “Five Heart” high-quality accommodations, featuring: “School Care” with upgraded hardware and software facilities; “Faculty Care,” which provides dormitory counselors rotating 24/7; “Parent Assurance,” which provides parents an automated access control system and regular communication; “Attentive Service,” which offers helmet and umbrella rental services; and “Student Care,” which provides health and leisure activities to ensure a safe and enjoyable learning environment for dormitory residents.

Regarding career preparation, Dean Shun-Yun Lin noted that the University has strengthened job-matching mechanisms through the Cheng Shiu University Career Services. It hosts an annual Campus Job Fair while also collaborating with the Region Employment Services Center of the Ministry of Labor and the Kaohsiung City Labor Affairs Bureau Employment Service Office to provide on-site employment services, enhancing talent recruitment opportunities for businesses through diverse job-matching channels.

Additionally, the Indigenous Student Resource Center offers a one-stop service for Indigenous students, focusing on the “3Cs”—Caring for Indigenous Students, Tribal Revitalization, and Cultural Fusion—to promote respect, diversity, and cultural sharing.

Cheng Shiu University’s Office of Student Affairs continues to innovate student affairs and counseling, fostering students’ self-actualization within a diverse campus community while equipping mentors with the necessary resources to support student success.
