This news spread back to the school, bringing pride and joy to the entire faculty and student body.

To provide an international platform for design talents, the Taiwan Interior Design and Decoration Association, the Taoyuan Association of Interior Design and Decoration, and the Chinese Creative Design Association jointly organized the 1st Titanium Space Design Award, Taiwan (TSDA). Cheng Shiu University’s Department of Architecture and Interior Design won the Best Educational Training Institution Award.

Third-year student Bo-Hsiang Yeh participated in the competition with his commercial space design and stood out among hundreds of entries, receiving the “Online People’s Choice Award.” During the awards ceremony, organizers emphasized that online voting is the most practical evaluation mechanism, indicating that the winning works possess the highest market competitiveness. Additionally, six other student groups were finalists, with three students – Tze-Wei Yang, Hui-Jing Guo, and Bo-Yen Wu – each receiving an Honorable Mention.

The Department of Architecture and Interior Design also received the “Best Educational Training Institution Award” for its “Digital Architecture Design Workshop,” which was highly praised by the judges. The person in charge of the workshop, Dr. Shung-Cherng Ni, noted that the solid learning outcomes fostered by the workshop, developing students’ hands-on practice skills in architectural tectonics, have trained many new talents for Taiwan’s architecture and interior design industry.

The Department of Digital Multimedia Design also showcased its excellence. Under the guidance of Dr. Sheng-Kai Yin and Che-Kang Chu, the 2D/3D hybrid game “Cuffing Monsters/Kào Yāo” designed by Wen-Chuan Pan, Yo-Tien Wang, Ching-Mao Liu, and three other students, stood out among numerous competing entries. It received the 2024 Vision Get Wild “Mobile Game Silver Award” and the “Best National Design Award” at the 2024 Youth Innovative Design Festival for the game design category.

Core gameplay features include territory occupation, character upgrades, and earning rewards through gaming, providing rich interaction and strategic choices. This game not only offers a visual and interactive feast but also represents a perfect blend of culture and entertainment.
