Office of Library and Information Announcement
Dear Faculty and Students,
The latest announcement from Microsoft indicates the storage space for Office 365 Education will change starting February 1, 2024. Combined storage for the school tenant will be reduced to 100 TB. Office 365 users will be limited to a maximum of 100 GB for both OneDrive and SharePoint storage. Exchange storage will be adjusted to 50 GB. Effective August 1, 2024, Microsoft will terminate the permission to download Office 365 Education software; only the online version of Office 365 will be available. To ensure that Office 365 services at the school continue to operate smoothly and that faculty and students use the service appropriately, we ask all users of Office 365 to cooperate with the following actions.
Please download and back up your data from OneDrive or transfer it to other storage solutions. Faculty and staff are kindly asked to reduce their disk usage to below 30 GB. Students are asked to reduce their disk usage to below 50 GB. Alumni and individuals not affiliated with Cheng Shiu University will no longer have access.
The Office of Library and Information will begin processing accounts starting January 1, 2024. Accounts exceeding storage limits or that do not comply with the regulations will be suspended or removed. All files and data stored in OneDrive, SharePoint, and Exchange will be permanently deleted at that time. To avoid data loss, please review your account content and back up your data as soon as possible. Please refer to Microsoft’s official announcement link for details.
Sincerely,
Office of Library and Information
