X. Important Notes

In accordance with Article 15 of the Regulations Governing Continuing Education at Junior Colleges and Institutions of Higher Education, students who intend to use continuing education credits when applying for an admission examination may earn no more than 18 continuing education credits per semester in associate degree and bachelor’s level credit programs and no more than 9 credits per semester in master’s level credit programs.

The University’s credit courses are offered on a space-available basis in regularly scheduled classes. If a course does not meet the minimum enrollment requirement, or if the course reaches capacity due to course additions or withdrawals by the University’s regularly enrolled students, students enrolled in the credit program will be notified to apply for a refund in order to ensure teaching quality and protect the rights of the University’s regularly enrolled students.

Enrollment in a credit program does not grant participants regular student status. Therefore, the University cannot issue documentation for matters such as deferment of military reserve call up or student loans.

Students who successfully complete a course will be issued a Certificate of Credits Earned. Students who are subsequently admitted to Cheng Shiu University may apply to transfer these credits in accordance with the relevant academic regulations. However, the certificate cannot be used as proof of equivalent academic qualifications for future admission applications.

Credits earned through these programs may not be used as proof of eligibility for qualified teacher certification. Students who take courses in psychology-related fields will not thereby become eligible to take statutory licensing examinations for medical personnel. Students who wish to take the Senior Professional and Technical Examination for Social Workers administered by the Ministry of Examination after completing their studies must comply with the examination regulations announced by the Ministry of Examination.

The University collects, processes, and uses applicants’ information in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act.

Certain practical and technical courses offered by the Department of Cosmetics and Fashion Styling, Department of Food and Beverage Management, and Department of Architecture and Interior Design, as well as the 32 credits of core educate courses and practicum offered by the Department of Early Childhood Care and Education, are not available for enrollment as individual credit courses.
