Following Indigenous Week activities, the 59th Cheng Shiu University Anniversary Celebration peaked with an anniversary concert, a creative school song competition, and a makeup and fashion runway show. These activities took the stage one after another, filling the entire campus with a joyful spirit. During the anniversary evening party, President Jui-Chang Kung, General President Tai-Ping Su of the Alumni Association, and alumni association presidents from various departments raised glasses to celebrate and wish Cheng Shiu University a happy birthday.
President Jui-Chang Kung stated that since its founding 59 years ago, Cheng Shiu University has thrived thanks to the exceptional achievements of its alumni and the collective efforts of its faculty and students, making it a top performer. He added that the concert created unforgettable memories for everyone in attendance.
Alumni Association General President Tai-Ping Su highlighted that Cheng Shiu University has over 150,000 graduates, serving as the most substantial support for juniors. Despite today's challenge of declining birth rates, the university has maintained an enrollment of 16,000 students. This demonstrates that its educational outcomes are highly recognized by society.
The 59th Anniversary Celebration concert started with a performance by the “PAPUN BAND,” whose energetic guitar rock and vocalist livened up the atmosphere, with cheers throughout the venue.
Idol singer Janice Yan took the stage to perform the hit song “Right, Now!” A crowd of over a thousand students immediately erupted into cheers. “I love you!” and “Her voice is beautiful!” echoed throughout the audience as the music swept them away. With a shift in music style, Yan performed “Dare to Be Different,” stepping off the stage to sing and dance while interacting with students through energetic high-fives, further exciting the atmosphere.
The “Creative School Song Competition,” held for 16 consecutive years, showcased 12 participating teams this year. Each team brought bags of tricks to display their creativity, featuring cheerleading, Snow White, and Uncle McDonald-inspired costumes, knocking the audience's socks off. The Department of Early Childhood and Education stood out the most, winning the Presidential and Excellence awards. President Jui-Chang Kung remarked that the school song competition fosters teamwork and strengthens student camaraderie. This ensures that students gain valuable experience and unforgettable memories regardless of the outcome.
The creative school song by the Department of Early Childhood and Education conveyed the message “Say No to Drugs, Cherish Life,” opening with the hit pop song <APT>. Dressed in blue baseball jackets, symbolizing the color of Cheng Shiu, students began with a solemn rendition of the school song. As the style shifted, eight students performed a dynamic chair dance. They delivered a visually stunning performance with powerful rhythms and dynamic formation changes.
The makeup and fashion runway show featured a variety of outfits paired with unique makeup styles. Each model's movement was captivating, making them the most beautiful team of the anniversary celebration.
