Cheng Shiu University is founded upon the broad ideal of cultivating future generations. Involving the resources of the private sector in cultural heritage and innovation, we seek to provide students with the finest learning environment to develop their talents and lives according to their individual character. Brief History

　

1.     Founded in 1965 as Cheng-Shiu Junior College of Technology.

2.     Renamed as Cheng-Shiu Institute of Technology & Commerce in 1990.

3.     Promoted to be Cheng-Shiu Institute of Technology in 1999.

       The Pillars of Our Approach

　

1. Outstanding Performance

    Cheng Shiu University achieved top ratings among all schools in thorough evaluations conducted in 1997 and 2002 by the Ministry of Education.

 

2. Equal Emphasis on Specialized Training and General Education

Cheng Shiu University practices holistic education, placing equal stress on specialized training and general education. Toward this end, we have established a General Education Center, Arts and Culture Center, and place emphasis on a general humanities curriculum with the aim of producing students who are both well versed in technology and are also appropriately cultured.

 

3. Exceptional Faculty

Over 50% of our faculty members have the title of assistant professor or above. Of our faculty members, 130 have Doctorate degrees, and approximately 50 others are Ph.D. candidates. Our faculty members are actively involved in teaching and research, and maintain excellent student-teacher interaction.

 

4.  World-class Microbore Technology Research Center

The Microbore Technology Research Center, a key priority of school investment, is a specialized laboratory meeting the highest international standards. Each year, the facility’s Stack Dioxins/Furans emissions tests are sent to top international labs hosted by such nations as Switzerland, Italy, and Norway for comparative analysis, confirming the lab’s dioxin analysis capacities have achieved world-class levels.

 

5.  Leading Semiconductor Testing Capacities

With the completion of our Semiconductor Testing Laboratory Program, Cheng Shiu University’s semiconductor testing equipment and facilities can now claim a leading position among Taiwan’s colleges and universities.
